Welcome.  This is a new venture into largely uncharted waters for me.  I hope you will enjoy my successes and challenges as I share with you a glimpse of my textile world.

From an early age, first watching my mother and then making clothes for my dolls, I have always enjoyed creating with fabric and stitch.  Today, my life as an accountant will show through in my textile work as I often seek to incorporate a mathematical element into my stitched pieces.

Initially studying City & Guilds Level 3 Embroidery, this developed my love of stitch in a wider context.  I am now undertaking a City and Guilds Level 3 qualification in Patchwork and Quilting as well as furthering my interest in exploring all forms of wet media.

My work will use machine and hand stitching and I enjoy working with a wide range of colours, textures and surfaces – watch out for foil sweet wrappers in my work!  Ideas are initially explored through extensive use of sketchbooks and whilst some of these become works of art in their own right, others are more personal.

This journey will help me to explore new pathways and revisit ones already trodden but often forgotten so enjoy it as we continue to learn together.
